The Seventh Moon 10 - Finally Out!

Two more days had passed and the Master Mage declared that Risa had fully recovered. Of course, Lady Enlari had attributed it to the sealed magic inside of Risa since it appeared that the said magical energy also had healing properties. Even if she wasn't aware of how it truly worked yet, the magic seemed to be beneficial to her.

Upon knowing that she was fully recovered, Risa insisted on helping out with the household chores since she was living there. Jehan couldn't stop her since she did promise that he'd allow her to help him once she was well enough to move around.

That day, Jehan decided to take Risa with him to harvest some herbs.

"You're finally taking me somewhere else."

The Seventh Moon 9 - The Magic Inside Me

Though the pain on Risa's head started to lessen and she could move more vigorously now, Jehan still wouldn't let her do anything inside the house.

"It's still strange to see you do house chores when you said that you're a noble," Risa commented as she was watching Jehan wash the plates they used to eat that day.

She was sitting on one of the chairs of the dining table and writing that world's alphabet over and over on a piece of paper that he provided for her the other day. It appeared that the sealed magic in her body had allowed her to gain the knowledge about letterings and language of that world. And thanks to that, she was starting to get used to learning a little about that magical world through the books that Jehan and the Master Mage would bring to her.

Jehan laughed a little at Risa's comment and turned to look at her.

The Seventh Moon 8 - With The Dragons

"...and now, they left me here all alone."

Risa sighed after uttering that as she looked at the clear blue sky from the window of her room.

Then again, it wasn't as if she needed a companion all the time. It was just that Jehan, her appointed caretaker, had to go to town to buy ingredients and condiments needed for that week's meal plan. So there was no other choice but to leave her behind for a while.

She wasn't scared that someone would barge in there and dare attack her again. At least, the Master Mage assured her that it won't happen a second time. The magical barrier he cast on the day she was forcibly taken and also the two dragons tasked to guard the area would be there to give her the protection she needed.

The Seventh Moon 7 - This Is A New World Now

"Your appearance has changed? What are you talking about?" Jehan asked before any of the older mages could do so.

Risa looked at her reflection in the mirror once again and studied herself. Without a doubt, this wasn't how she was mainly supposed to look like. At least, in terms of the hair and eye color. But she knew that this was still her somehow.

And she could prove that.

The scar on her left upper arm from a surgery she got because of the wound she sustained when she was 21. It was still there. She got it from saving Mai from a pole that was about to hit her friend when an earthquake hit the town at the time.

⁡Introduce yourself and WIP.⁡

Day 1 of #fantasyindiesseptember:⁡
⁡.⁡
Yes, it's a little late. But still, here I am.⁡
⁡.⁡
⁡Hi! ⁡My name is Florence Joyce (yes, both are my first names) and I just turned 31 last August. And yes, I've been writing stories for a long time. Probably since I was in 4th or 5th grade. Can't fully recall. I wrote mainly romance stories and only about 6-7 years ago that I started writing in fantasy genre. I managed to have 2 of my novels published back in 2014 and 2016. For now, I'm lurking on several online writing platform as my way of practicing my craft more since I felt it rusted quite a lot for some time now.⁡
⁡.⁡
⁡This picture (which is not mine, btw) is one of the visual inspirations I have for the main character in my WIP titled "The Seventh Moon". It's actually my Camp NaNoWriMo July 2022 project that I started and decided to continue writing it even after I reached my target word count at the time. And no, the character is not Chinese. But I like the hanfu she was wearing here and I'm imagining my MC wearing a battle outfit like this in her battles. Flowy, but still functional as a battle outfit.⁡ I'll tell more about the story next time. πŸ˜„✌️πŸ’•⁡⁡
⁡.⁡
⁡Since Day 1 of this challenge and #themoonstardustandskychallenge have the same prompt, I'm only adding something here that is unique to the 2nd one. Goals for September.⁡
⁡⁡.⁡
⁡Well, the goal is to actually write more than half of the story itself or at least reach 3/4 of it already by the end of the month. I'm a slow writer, by the way. Not to mention, I have other stories that I intend to focus on updating online. Trying to update two more to compensate for my negligence for those pending stories over the past two months. So yes, I intend to make my September busier than ever for my writings. Of course, it's still easier said than done. Right? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

The Seventh Moon 6 - Changes

"You don't have to force yourself to recall them if it brings you so much pain, Miss Risa."

But Risa paid no heed to Jehan's words as the pain was more disturbing than it ever was. And yet, for some reason, she could only see blurry images in her mind. Some of them, she knew it happened. While the others... She could see water everywhere. She could feel them, as well.

So she eventually ended up in the river after that car struck her. But how did that happen? Was there some magic about that car that pushed her to this place? She had already seen that magic was possible here.

The person who called her name when the car was about to run over her... It was still a mystery to her. She knew that it was not her brother at all. A friend, perhaps? She shook her head.
