The Osmerth Guardians in which Francis was a part of were dealing with the Darkans from Agorion for ages. While the Power Casters were dealing with different enemies since they found a home on Earth 10,000 years ago. But the ones that the Power Casters in the Philippines had been focusing on defeating were the Draohins.

The Darkans and the Draohins were both portal-wreckers and Arcanix (beings with no powers whatsoever) kidnappers in which the Osmerth Guardians and Power Casters living on Earth were trying to prevent. One particular Draohin, however, seemed to have something to do with Elysriel's death 400 years ago—an event that could repeat itself now that a certain truth about Ilsie's hidden power is starting to come to light.
