(book comment) Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

I mean, I think it's fine... and also crazy considering that Nia was just 5 years old in this volume but can actually deliver a fight that was more than enough for anyone who would encounter her and fight her. This kind of reminded me of the Korean drama "Alchemy of Souls", with the major differences in the ages of the main character and the ones their reincarnated into. It might take me a while to read the next volume, though. We'll still see.

(book comment) The World's Strongest Witch Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5

Finished reading this yesterday and nearly forgot to write a comment about this book. But yeah, I guess you could say finishing this book finally made me reach my Goodreads goal. This was both fun and cringy, especially the internet slang that I kept on seeing that only made me laugh a lot. But yeah, I guess you could say that I only started reading this because of the anime adaptation that I watched. Despite the cringiness, I'd still continue reading the next volume... once I finally finish the other ones in my TBR.

(book comment) The Weakest Tamer Began The Journey Of Picking Up Trash Volume 13

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I actually finished reading this yesterday, but I only got to write any comment on this one today since I can't fully concentrate. I guess that's what happens when you're really tired — both physically and even mentally (at least for the day).

I can already tell that this arc would also be long, just like the Hataka arc. I mean, that arc was two volumes long, just so you know. Not to mention, this arc looked like it would deal with two major issues — the brainwashing and even the drug addicts. Oh, and should I add the issues about the berserk monsters, as well? Yup, it was a crazy read.

Now I can't wait to read the next volume — and that would be coming out in December, according to Seven Seas. Yes, I know. It's still a long wait for the next volume.

(book comment) Al The Adventurer: That Magic Shouldn't Work! Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

I mean, it's an okay read for me. Maybe not what I expected when I first saw the story description. In any case, I'm just glad that I get to finish reading this. I think I'd be able to read the first volume once it's available. The concept of the magic here was great, though a little confusing to me at first. Then again, once you got use to it, it wouldn't be. Too much explanation and not much action, I guess. Maybe that's what made it hard for me to finish reading this in one go.

(book comment) A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring Volume 2

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It took a while, but I'm done reading this. A whole lot more adventure awaited them in, like, every turn. But yes, new town and new adventures so that's great for them. I think the anime version of this had followed the story as faithfully as they could, so I'm glad about that. Now it only makes me want to read the next volume soon. Hopefully, I do get to find it soon.

(book comment) The Petty Villain Plays By The Rules Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Not bad, I guess. It was still a fine story for me, even though I didn't like some of the characters, especially the ones from the nobility and even the royal couple. Oh, well. I guess that's just me.

(book comment) A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I guess you could say I only decided to read this to reminisce and also to see some differences from the anime version, which was the first I watched before reading this. A lot of the scenes here were closer to what I've seen in the anime version. But of course, books contained more details that would never be seen in the anime. I still enjoyed reading this and now I can't wait to read the second volume.

(book comment) Kusunoki's Garden Of Gods Volume 2

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

I mean, the story is still fine. But maybe the whole book proceeded a little slow for me. I still enjoyed it, over all. The same way I enjoyed the anime adaptation.

(book comment) The Frontier Lord Begins With Zero Subjects Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Enjoyed reading it, even though I only decided to start reading this after seeing the anime adaptation. Why is that, though? But I think I'll worry about that later. What matters to me is that I got to finish reading another book.

(book comment) Heroine? Saint? No, I'm An All-Works Maid! Volume 1

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

This is actually a 4.5 for me. I just love it. So now I'm wondering why I DNF'd it several months ago. I can't recall the reason now. Was that a weird thing to say? But I guess it's okay now. At least I finally finished reading this. I guess I have to thank the anime adaptation of this for igniting my desire to read this again. It paid off, so to speak.

(book comment) Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurb Skill Volume 11

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Crazy dungeon. That, I think, would sum up the majority of this volume. And yes, with guidance from the God of All Creation, of all things.

【personal thoughts】What I Read In June 2021

I know I don't usually do this. But because I subscribed to a few Booktube channels on Youtube, for some reason, I ended up deciding to do this instead of a video. Reason? First and foremost, it'll be easier for me since I'm not exactly into recording myself in a video, anyway. I was never confident in doing that. Second, I just want to compile all my book comments for this month into one single blog post, even though I don't have a lot of books to feature here, anyway. And third, maybe this will motivate me to read more once again.

Honestly speaking, I love reading and it's what motivated me to write stories when I was in high school. My writing endeavors actually started when I was in 6th grade, but my inspiration at the time were my dreams (like, literal dreams from my sleep) and a bunch of anime I've watched. And possibly my crush at the time, as well. Did I actually add that particular fact? I'm laughing inside as I wrote that particular part. Maybe one time, I'll mention him here, regardless of the fact that he would be able to read it or not.

Okay, I think my introduction here turned out to be longer than I intend it to be. But I guess that's okay, right? Nothing wrong with that. I have to say that this month is a good start for me in terms of reading books since I haven't been able to do so in a long while, even when the quarantine started hitting us hard, big time. I bought a few more books even with all the chaos going on around. And yet, they just remained on my shelf. Bad idea, I know.

In any case, here are the books I was able to read this month. A classic English children's book (no judging, please), a Tagalog pocketbook, and the first volume of a light novel I read online. So what do I think about them? I think I should do it in order of the time I got to finish reading them. Just a reminder: My book comments aren't exactly that as deep as those you'd find in Booktube community or even on other book bloggers. I write what I think about them ~ no matter how limited it might be. I just don't want to force myself to writing pretty stuff when trying to explain myself, if you know what I mean.
