Since the Shinomiya mansion ambush that took the lives of the people they care about and trampled their honor as knights to their ruling family, all of them made sure that it will never happen again. The 12 Knights of the Sky vowed to protect their princess/leader who decided to erase her identity and be known by a different name. It was her only way of protecting everything that the previous leader of the Shrouded Flowers had left in Kourin's hands. But when it comes to an actual fight, even the Knights knew that Kourin would not hesitate to risk her life to ensure their safety. She would also do the same thing in order to protect two of the guys that had become important to her over the course of time.
