List of Characters for "The Last Sky Of The Earth"

I made a list so that the readers of this story know who the characters that will appear here. It’s too long, by the way, just to warn you. Not really detailed. It's enough to give you an idea of who the characters are. I'll update this entry from time to time when I think of adding more info or characters. You might be wondering why I used various visual inspirations from Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Thai celebrities. Well, I'm more familiar with them, actually. So regardless of the nationality of the visuals I used, I still gave them Japanese names as my story actually focused on Japanese characters.

A lot of the characters from my WIP can fight and definitely rescue me if ever I got caught up in any danger. But Tetsuya would be the first in that list. Though the Yumemiya clan (the clan that Tetsuya hailed from) are known for their sharpshooting skills, it was Tetsuya's close range combat skills that made him stand out from the others. Not to mention, his innate ability to actually make the atmosphere light for me by being the jester that he was could really come in handy in order to deal with the situation and ease my fear. His knife-throwing skills was something deadly for a person who sort of suppressed himself from using it unless it's absolutely necessary.

The second on my list of the characters that I want to save me would be the person unknowingly trained to become the next master of the Shichi RaiRyuuKen techniques—Raiden Wilford. His ability in wielding three (turning four) blade techniques of a forgotten clan was remarkable to the point of putting him as one of the two future shadow guardians of the Yasunaga clan leader.

Stubborn characters — the good and the bad.

All of my characters have their own stubborn sides. But in this prompt, I'm focusing on two—one on the protagonists' side and the other on the antagonists.

Raiden may not have been working or had any knowledge about anything related to the Shrouded Flowers before and after his older sister had gotten herself involved in their business. But he wasn't the person to remain sitting and let her do all the dangerous work. Good thing about it—he was hell bent of doing everything because he doesn't want to see or hear about another death that could be close to home. Bad side—he doesn't listen to anyone, even to his sister, when things weren't already turning to his favor. His recklessness had a tendency to lead him to his demise once it couldn't be stopped.

Cronus could be the most dangerous surviving member of the Dark Rose Agency, having killed almost everyone related to his ultimate rival among the members of the Shrouded Flowers—Mamoru Yumemiya. He was stubborn to the point of disregarding everything and everyone in his surroundings (even his surviving comrades) once he put his mind to it. That could be the bad side of it. On the other hand, he was stubborn to the point of making sure that everything he does for the sake of seeking revenge was done right and without mistakes. However, Mamoru would always do his best to evade from the grips of death that Cronus would bring about.

Characters with dangerous goals.

Almost all of the characters in Shrouded Flowers have dangerous goals. The most common one would be to see the defeat of the Dark Rose. So it can be seen that those within the Shrouded Flowers were trained to fight, thus they have the ability to do so. However, there are those outside of the group who got caught up in the battle. And so begins the journey for these peopleㅡwith some of them possessing the ability to deal with the dangerㅡwho chose to help the Shrouded Flowers achieve the peace and justice they've been trying to grasp for a long time. They decided to fight and discover the truth surrounding the existence of a forgotten clan that might be linked to all of them.

Characters who'd die for each other.

Since the Shinomiya mansion ambush that took the lives of the people they care about and trampled their honor as knights to their ruling family, all of them made sure that it will never happen again. The 12 Knights of the Sky vowed to protect their princess/leader who decided to erase her identity and be known by a different name. It was her only way of protecting everything that the previous leader of the Shrouded Flowers had left in Kourin's hands. But when it comes to an actual fight, even the Knights knew that Kourin would not hesitate to risk her life to ensure their safety. She would also do the same thing in order to protect two of the guys that had become important to her over the course of time.

Coffee shop trip with characters! What do you get? What do they get?

Though I'm a coffee drinker, I don't really go to coffee shops even just to have a different take on coffees. But for these three, it will be a chaotic trip—especially with Tetsuya tagging along with Kourin and Seiichi. At least, it was Seiichi who thinks that dragging Tetsuya along a supposed coffee date would be chaotic. But he has a duty to protect Kourin—even though at the time, Seiichi doesn't know this. Anyway, the trip let us reach a certain coffee shop that Tetsuya loves to go to. Not to mention that it was owned by his friend.

Tetsuya doesn't really like drinking a particular coffee. He would drink any of it, as long as he feels doing so. He's actually eating cakes and pastries there more than drinking coffee, especially if there was something new in the menu. Kourin would prefer ordering an iced cafe mocha and Seiichi would order a slice of cake paired with a cup of latte.

As for me, if there's a hazelnut coffee, then I'm in! 😁✌️😁✌️

Character with a weakness you can relate to.

The majority of my characters are strong, both in their combat skills and their mentality. But all of them, at some point of their lives, were able to inadvertently show their weakness/es to some people and in turn, had changed the way they lived their lives.

Though Tetsuya Kisaragi (in which I used #YamadaRyousuke as his #visualinspiration) from TLSOTE was shown to be a jester and would always point out his handsome face, his loyalty to serving the Shinomiya clan princess as one of her shadow guardians was also shown.

But this loyalty and dedication to the point of forgetting himself and his safety actually stemmed from the time that he was still too kindhearted to even become a deadly warrior and an active member of the Yumemiya clan, let alone become a shadow guardian to the youngest leader of the Shrouded Flowers. He once loved someone and dedicated himself to just remain loving that person, until her betrayal shattered his kind heart and turned him into someone cold and somewhat ruthless.

Being kindhearted is okay, but at some point, people tend to abuse it to the extent that we end up losing ourselves because of the hurt we feel from the betrayal. At this point, I could say that this is one weakness that I can relate to—making it harder for me to even trust someone and just isolate myself from other people other than those that I trust. Both Tetsuya and I can smile and joke around, but the hurt of getting betrayed or losing the people we invested our hearts to still lingers. It's still there... until someone will come that can dissipate the lingering hurt completely...

Who knows, right?

Aside from the Shrouded Flowers, there are also people outside of the 4 clans that also deal with the Dark Rose Agency. And since most of them were operating outside of the group, their movements and options to fulfill their missions were never limited. However, each of them had kept certain secrets about their identities and true skills and there were others who were completely oblivious about their true roles to end the five-decade-old battle between the Shrouded Flowers and the Dark Rose Agency.

Dubbed as "The Star Knights" with the elemental representation of water, they are the only people among the Shrouded Flowers that can be said as the most loyal and fully devoted to their leader. Their representation among the four elemental items from the 14 Celestial Succession Ceremonial Items is the "Mirror of the Waters", which was said to be the proof of a leader's efficiency to rule. They've only become a part of the Shrouded Flowers 300 years ago after the annihilation of the entirety of the original fourth family's members. Their flower emblem is the Peruvian heliotrope and one of their members became the bearer and protector of the flower stone called the Peruvian Heliotrope Crystal. Because of this, the clan became also known as "The Devoted Miyuzaki".

The silent messenger and warriors among the Shrouded Flowers, bearing the title "The Moon Knights" and having the wind as their elemental representation. Their representation among the four elemental items from the 14 Celestial Succession Ceremonial Items is the "Horn of the Winds", which was said to be the proof of a leader's swiftness to act with confidence and determination. They are known for their sharpshooting abilities that even surpasses that of the snipers from government agencies around the world. Their flower emblem is the yellow jasmine and one of their members became the bearer and protector of the flower stone called the Yellow Jasmine Crystal. Because of this, their clan became also known as "The Elegant Yumemiya".

AZURAYA FAMILY

The most aggressive and feisty warriors among the Shrouded Flowers, making it the reason for them to be called as "The Sun Knights" with fire as their elemental representation. Their representation among the four elemental items from the 14 Celestial Succession Ceremonial Items is the "Fan of the Fire", which was said to be the proof of a leader's passion to lead. They're all composed of warriors trained in high-speed evasion and blade wielding, making them the fastest and the deadliest among the Knights of the Sky in terms of close-ranged combat. Their flower emblem is the orange lily and one of their members became the bearer and protector of the flower stone called the Orange Lily Crystal. Because of this, the clan became also known as "The Blazing Azuraya".

The premise of the first arc of "Eight Thorned Blades" titled "The Last Sky Of The Earth" is about the four once prestigious clans in Japan who were ambushed two years prior to the storyline and found refuge in the Philippines. The ambush annihilated almost all members of the four clans, with only a few surviving the devastating attack. But the peace and healing they've relished during those times in another country didn't last long as they all knew that their enemy—the group that initiated the attack in the first place to wipe out the entirety of the Shinomiya clan—also had survivors from that last attack. In addition to that, they slowly begin to discover a certain truth that leads back to a prestigious clan mentioned in a 300-year-old history and learning more about the people who could possibly revive it once again. But doing so will risk another batch of casualty, possibly even greater than how it was during the attack two years prior.

SHINOMIYA FAMILY

The leader of the revered Shrouded Flowers, a group of four prestigious and distinguished families in Japan since 400 years ago. They are referred to as "The Sky of the Earth" even though their elemental representation is actually earth. Their representation among the four elemental items from the 14 Celestial Succession Ceremonial Items is the "Crown of the Earth", which was said to be the proof of a leader's nurturing nature for her people. Their leadership skill was something to be reckoned with, as they were able to lead the Shrouded Flowers for generations. Their flower emblem is the purple tulip and one of their members became the bearer and protector of the flower stone called the Purple Tulip Crystal. Because of this, the clan became also known as "The Noble Shinomiya".

One of my edits for #TLSOTE and it was about the 12 Knights chosen to guard the main familyーwhich was the Shinomiya clan. The chosen Knights came from the other three clans of the Shrouded Flowers (Azuraya, Yumemiya, and Miyuzaki) and they all excel in certain fields related to combat.

The current leaders of each clans from the Shrouded Flowers in my English-Filipino action-romance story The Last Sky Of The Earth. And yes, each clan represents the four classical elements, with the Shinomiya clan being the ruling clan of the group. The names here are written in Western style (given name first, then surname).

THE DARK ROSE AGENCY

An organization solely formed and devoted to the implementation of their 51-year-old agenda. And that is the destruction and total annihilation of the Shrouded Flowers. The members consisted of geniuses and experts in their respective fields. Aside from that, the recruited members have one important thing in common--hatred to the Shrouded Flowers enough to become their driving force to destroy their desired targets. There are currently 27 members of the agency and all of them formed bitter rivalry with the surviving members of the Shrouded Flowers, most especially the 12 Knights of the Sky. They refer to each other by their codenames, all were based from the 14 Greek patheon of gods and the 12 Titans. Excepted from it was only one member, Vulcan, as his codename was actually from the Roman pantheon and the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Hephaestus which happened to be his brother's codename.
