【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 12

Now that is a little bit intense for an episode. But even when I was reading the web novel, I felt the same way. So no surprise there. But at least we're progressing here, especially when Niberune (this was how it was spelled in the anime while in the web novel, it was spelled Nibelung) woke up and glowed like that. I forgot who the voice was, even when I knew I read the web novel. So I'll not worry myself about that in the meantime. The answer will come as I continue watching, anyway.

Cutting a human doesn't really feel right regardless of the reason. And in two episodes already, Marina was feeling it. Not that I would know what that feels, though. To be honest, when I first read this, it bothered me. But this was the clear issue about the dungeon that I clearly remember from reading this part in the web novel. The issues that Silk and Rain mentioned didn't stay in my mind, for some reason. But I didn't think that twilight seemed to have some effect on those who would encounter it in a dungeon as mysterious as that shown in Glad Shi-im and even in Achromatic Darkness. Crazy, huh?

And now, the culling had began. Now Yuke has a bigger duty to fulfill on this one. Him, a hero? That's something that he wouldn't usually accept, obviously. In this case, though, he doesn't have much of a choice. He was chosen for the role by someone who knew about the Twilight City. Of course, I don't remember how this arc would end, to be honest. Now let's see what exactly will happen as this goes on.

By the way, I only noticed it when I watched the opening credits in full. But they actually included Jamie in the party. I did know that she would be joining, but unsure at which point she would. But I knew it's within this arc. I haven't read that point in the web novel, by the way, as I stopped for some reason I can't remember now. But this is better for now since I would be able to watch this second arc of the anime with no knowledge from the original material. I know I'd still read the web novel, but maybe not at the moment. So you could say that I'd be able to watch this in a blank slate — if that was even the right term for that.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 11

Finally get to doing this before I end up not doing it at all. But why is it that this episode seemed to be going a bit fast than how it was in the web novel? I'm pretty sure Clover still explored the inside of Glad Shi-im before encountering Loge. And it was supposed to be a little bit similar to a ruin, not a ghost town. Not sure if they were supposed to mean the same at this point, though.

Of course, that issue with Rain's relatives trying to get her to return to them just to practically sell her off and marry her off to a prince. The first time I read this, though, I was so ready to hate the people involved here. But, yeah. Looks like Yuke still has some plan left in his sleeves. In my opinion, though, this only solidifies fans' expectations that Yuke and Rain are going to end up together. Then again, the web novel almost mentioned that part. So who knows what they will do in this adaptation.

Things are going to get crazy in the next episode, it seems. Especialy with that cliffhanger, although I do remember that they were supposed to encounter that thing in a church and not by the entrance of that city-like dungeon. Hmm... More differences, huh? Oh, well. Let's see what happens.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 10

So this is basically just a preparation for the adventure that Clover would be encountering in that new dungeon in a new city. It was called Duna, which was a trade city, and no name was ever made to that new dungeon. I still managed to read this part in the web novel version, so I'm still keeping up.

I still found one part funny about Yuke saying that Marina and the others as his wives — or specifically, his property — just so they wouldn't be taken by some Samultarian people. Not sure if they were adventurers or knights or something else. I guess I wasn't paying attention when I was watching it.

In my opinion, Clover looked like they were given some sort of preferential treatment by the guild even before they arrived, considering that the Guild Master Maniella had prepared everything for Yuke and the girls. By the way, I really imagined Maniella as a lot wrinkly and sort of short. So she didn't resonate with me the first time I saw her in this episode. But hey, she was capable, without a doubt.

I did notice, though, that the ending song was changed. I guess this was an indication of a new story arc that would be unfolding, considering that Jamie was in the sequence and the girl Nibelung. Honestly, I imagined her a bit younger when I was reading this arc. But let's see what the heck was actually happening at this point since this arc was just starting. 😁✌️

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 9.5

Honestly, I wasn't even planning on watching this when I realized that this was just going to be a recap of the first arc. But here I am, writing down this short episode comment. They actually made it like a livestream and an interview-like feature on Clover. Which is kind of amusing, by the way.

There's nothing much to say, though, as it was, in fact, just a recap of what happened. Mainly focusing on reintroducing the members of Clover without ever mentioning the other parties, even the scandals and such. I thought they would mention that, but didn't. So this was just like featuring the new adventure party that really rose from below with their skills and achievements as a party.

So, yes. This was just a light one to watch. Nothing disheartening or even annoying. They actually had to do interview and such. This one featured Rain, Marina, and even Yuke made an appearance near the end.

Now, let's see what the next episode is going to feature. But if I'm going to be honest, I haven't even finished reading the web novel version of the next arc to be featured here. So you could say that I'll be watching it with no clue how it would end in both the anime version and the web novel version.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 9

This one was just a light episode. Maybe you could say that it was the calm before the storm. I don't remember a particular part where Jamie actually joined the celebration in the web novel. But I like this little addition to the anime version. I do know that she and Yuke were talking about their own thoughts about each other before Mamal even mentioned about the new dungeon in the other town. But there was never a mention about six-leaf clover or something. Nene officially joining Clover was just briefly mentioned in the last part of the first episode/story arc of the web novel. It seems that they lengthened it a little bit in this anime episode. So I think that's good.

I don't really have much to say about this episode, except that it was calm and the girls just hanging out. By the way, I think Rain's getting more points towards getting closer to Yuke. Or have I stated it the right way? I'm not really sure. But let's see what kind of dungeon would be featured in the next arc. I really feel that a new arc would start next week.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 8

This is crazy, not gonna lie. So you could say that this is one of the final battles for this anime. At least, that's what I was aware of, if I were to base it on what I read at the web novel version. I mean, saving Jamie from the Achromatic Darkness after nearly escaping death, so to speak, is definitely a mission worth considering since she did what she could to save Yuke and the other Clover members from Simon's insanity. Of course, there were also other stuff worth considering, especially when they finally realized the true nature of that particular dungeon. Now they had to enter it one last time before the guild finally seal it to rescue Jamie. But before that, it was so satisfying to watch Rain beat up Besio and place the collar on him. And of course, that last spell that Yuke put on that fatty annoying jerk just to make sure he would stay away from Rain.

The one thing that I noticed about this anime version was the amount of (possibly) gory details that were present in the web novel, but not in this version. Especially about the part where Simon was basically a zombie with some of his internal organs coming out and stuff. Crazy, right? But yes, it was more gruesome in the web novel. Perhaps it was because of the way it was described that the production had to consider some stuff to put in the anime version, just to be on the safe side, so to speak.

The one about Yuke firing Prismatic Missile on Simon was probably the turning point of this, in both versions. But if I have to say so myself, Yuke's anger on the web novel was more intense than how it was shown in the anime. I mean, he fired the most powerful (if not the most complete) version of that spell not only because of the dark magic he received by becoming Persephone's disciple or something, but he said in the novel that it was because he never had enough negative emotions in him to unleash that spell's full power. But when he saw what Simon did to Jamie and his attempt to further hurt the other Clover members, all Yuke could see was murder. His desire to really kill Simon for all that he did was what fueled Prismatic Missile. I think that was the most terrible punishment that he could ever give to one of the most horrible people to ever exist. Seriously. And since Simon was already an undead, he would have to deal with the spell's effects for eternity. Sucks for him. Not to mention, attacks from many Shadow Stalkers would definitely intensify his sufferings in that dungeon. Really crazy.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 7

This is basically — and without a doubt — the episode I hated the most, so far. I mean, I knew that this was coming. I didn't think it would be this soon. Seriously! Stupidity to the highest level. Kind of crazy that I complain this way about Thunder Pike's actions towards Yuke and the other Clover members even though I already read this in the web novel version. But heck! This was still irritating to watch. I mean, it was already annoying and irritating just by reading it. But I guess it still has a different impact when I was watching it. A lot of the gory stuff mentioned in the web novel wasn't shown in the anime. Maybe that has something to do with censorship or something. It was like, it was just mentioned or implied that the two (obviously) died, only it happened behind the scene.

Oh, yeah. And this just proves what a trash Simon is, even towards the other Thunder Pike members. All for the desire to get his hands on Yuke and think he was taking revenge on him for leaving them. But all this time, he just proved himself to be even more worthless than he always was. At least Jamie knew how to be regretful. Only, it was too late for her to realize that since it all started when Yuke left their party. There was definitely a character development on her part. In fact, she was the only member of Thunder Pike who actually had that development. But it still won't end here for Thunder Pike, that's for sure.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths! episode 6

Well, that was nuts! At least for Simon and his party members — with the exception of Jamie. I mean, he literally dug his own grave and that of his party members for doing that. I mean, come on! Was that how high he thinks of himself that he doesn't even know how to self-reflect on his actions? Or he was just plain stupid?

Yup. Maybe the latter. Anyway, who cares? I knew (at least from the web novel version) that he would meet his "eternal" doom, anyway. You'll find out what I was talking about once we get to that part of the story.

But seriously, this is one crazy episode. And a big round of applause to the Guildmaster. He was one scary guy. Then again, aren't most guildmasters like that?

Clover took a step (finally) to conquering — or not — the very dungeon that has been Yuke's goal to reach for so long. The Anachromatic Darkness. Or in the web novel, it was referred as the Colorless Darkness. Of course, I know they meant the same. At least, he wasn't doing it by himself this time. His party members were there. Plus, they had a new member. Honestly, I pictured Nene as much less of a talker while reading the web novel version. She has a sort of withdrawn personality there (just a little). But in this anime, she was talking a little too much. Then again, it's okay. I don't mind.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure that the next episode would feature the appearance of that certain goddess. Then after that, Thunder Pike was about to make another bout of stupidity just to get back at Yuke and the rest of Clover members.

Okay, I'd better stop here before I spoil too much. Remember, I never read the manga cersion. Just the web novel version — and I'm still fine with that.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my students reach the dungeon depths episode 5

It really looked like Simon couldn't get any more idiotic than he already was. I mean, seriously. He still doesn't admit that he and his party were literally failing as adventurers. He still think that Yuke owed him. He used his childhood friend's childhood dream to lure him into coming back to Thunder Pike. He doesn't even acknowledge his own mistakes. For real. It really appeared that he couldn't get any more stupid. Or maybe he would get worse from here.

Good for Yuke to tell him off. For putting some sense on him and for actually bursting out. He was already progressing with everyone in Clover. There was no need to waste all that. They finally have a space of their own that would act as their base of operation, as well. It was going well for all of them. And now, Clover could finally start fulfilling that one big goal they all set when they starting. They could finally start going to the Achromatic Darkness — with the permission of the King himself — for investigative reasons. Along with that, a new member comes along. Now this is going to get a bit intense.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 4

This is the first time I realized that modelling/being a brand model would go hand in hand with adventuring. In this episode, however, I was proven wrong at some point. So the armors they used were the ones featured in the opening and ending songs of the anime. They were fancier than the ones they initially used. At least now, I have a visual of the armors that each of the girls had, compared to when I was reading it in the web novel.

So new costume was featured. But so does a new enemy. And it was a bit stronger and trickier to deal with. I mean, a creature that can pass through or destroy barriers? That's nuts, if you ask me. And yes, they did have a hard time defeating it. But this episode allowed me to see more of Rain's spells and even that of Silk. As for Marina, she just doesn't back down, that's for sure. And Yuke finally realized that he was also being too hard on himself, thanks to Rain. More moments of them taking care of each other as a team/party. Love it!

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 3

Well, beating that Zarnag did them good. I mean, their ranks were raised after that. And they were getting more recognized with each dungeon they conquered. Of course, it was also a given that there would be people who'd end up feeling jealous about Clover's slow rise. Should I say who it was? I guess not.

But this only proved that Simon was either dumb, too proud, or just too stubborn and hardheaded. Or maybe even a combination of all four. Oh, and I should add being unable to accept his own mistakes and faults. He really failed to recognize what he and the other Thunder Pike members did to Yuke. He still thought that it was Yuke who owed him a favor and not the other way around. He didn't even last holding on in dealing with his own troubles that he had put himself into. Crazy, right?

Yuke was at least glad and thankful that he had the girls recognized his own true worth more and more. Not just as an adventurer, but also as a person and a leader of Clover. 😊

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 2

The formation of the team went well. And of course, not everyone would be happy with that. Little by little, people notices Clover because of what Yuke did. Then again, it was obvious that some people would still not see it as a good thing.

Two examples: Thunder Pike and Besio Valas.

Two examples of idiots who thought they were all too good when in reality, they suck to the core. Idiots who seem to be too full of themselves to even accept that even when it hits them in the face. Yup, these people do need a hard core reality check. But if I were to base it on what I read on the web novel version, they never did. So... I'll leave it at that.

Now one challenge showed up in the form of the Zarnag. Really scary, if you ask me. But they did their best to fight it. The one thing I was anticipating to see was the effect of Prismatic Missile that Yuke cast in the end on that monster. I know that it couldn't kill, but I'd still like to see how it looks like in the anime version.

【episode comment】i left my a-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths episode 1

Obviously, it's the start. And good thing, too, for Yuke when he finally decided to part ways with the rest of his partymates who don't really see his worth. They were just a bunch of arrogant fools and overbearing idiots, anyway. Not worth spending your life dealing with them.

So I wasn't surprised that they also didn't know that Yuke once teached upcoming adventurers. And now they started forming a team, with him as a new member. I think the difference I noticed between the anime and the web novel version was the spell. There was more spell incantation recited in the anime (and there was an actual incantation) compared to the web novel version. Then again, I could only assume that the spells in the web novel version was using a different (probably ancient) language that it might let the author end up creating a new language just for the spells. That's going to be hard. But I liked both versions, don't worry.

So far, it's going well for me. And I would definitely add this to my ongoing anime to continue watching.
