I haven't written or posted anything in this blog for the past month because, well... September is something I say that is the worst month for me besides August. I mean, I couldn't encode as long as I want to because the desktop I was using totally failed me. And to think my sister just bought a new keyboard for it.
Anyway, that wasn't the reason why I decided to post something here again. Yes, I've returned to reading Filipino-authored English books. But then I thought that it wasn't really that long since I last read something like this.
This particular story, however, was a short one. Just 5 chapters. A short story accompaniment of "Interim Goddess of Love". Honestly speaking, this story and IGOL were the only copies I have for this series. I still don't have "Icon of the Indecisive" and "Queen of the Indecisive".
I wasn't really sure what made me read this particular story first instead of IGOL. But from what I can see, this gives a sort of a prologue in Hannah's life before the events in IGOL. I can't really compare the two for now since I haven't still read IGOL.
Hannah came to me as a typical wallflower. You know, the one that people ever hardly notice. Or at least close to that. She still have friends. And I guess being a wallflower doesn't exactly let you catch the attention of one of the most popular people in school. But Quin noticed something in her the moment they met. And it was probably the real reason why he still approached her despite their obvious differences in more ways than one. Hannah tends to degrade herself a lot. Or wait! I guess that wasn't the word I was looking for. But probably closer to that. She was contented with what she have and accepts a few of life's realities that her status had given her. Of course, it also brought a few negative thoughts in her mind most of the time.
Though I have other books written by this author besides this one that I got prior to this, I can't seem to find the time to read it. Anyway, I'll do my best to give my thoughts about Ms. Mina's other books next time.
