Bigger Goals, Huh?

Hey, guys! How are you? Are you all doing well? I really hope you all are. I know today is Fathers' Day, and I should be posting about that. But I'll post something about that later. This one is a different topic.

So yesterday was the start of posting photos in IG for the #daretoshareIGchallenge. I know that it's not going to be easy for me since I just post photos there randomly. Whenever I feel like it. But I want to try things, at least do them one step at a time. So in the next coming days, I might post photos here as well that I posted in my IG account. Maybe that would really help me recall and realize my bigger goals in life.

And trust me, there's a lot of them. Hehe!

For Day 1 Part 1:

They wanted us to introduce ourselves. One photo that would sum us up, define us in more ways than one. So this is what I posted in Instagram yesterday, in between 9 AM to 10 AM.

So this is my first post for an IG challenge I decided to participate into. Still a bit anxious and (quite) shy about doing this. But I'll definitely won't go anywhere if I remain standing in that same spot. At least that's my current thought. Actually doing it is always the hardest part. But I want to try things one step at a time, so...
.
Introductions first since this is Day 1. My name is Florence Joyce. Though I got a lot of nicknames since I was a child, the usual nicknames I usually accept hearing from people who knew me would be Flor, Florence and Joyce. I've graduated last April 2014, which makes me a former BS Information Technology student at a technical school here in Baguio. So why I ended up being a writer? A lot of reasons exist for that.
.
Why a hand holding a pen? It's quite obvious. Writing is what I do, even if I'm still a long way to go. Here are 5 facts I thought I'd share
.
1. I still write most of my manuscripts on paper first before actualy typing them down. I don't know. Even if it's slow, I can't seem to remove the habit.
.
2. I write more at night. But not to the point where I could be called nocturnal. Let's say between 7-11:30.
.
3. I need to listen to songs while writing. My mind seems to like being in a mess without music. Most of them are ballads.
.
4. I've been writing since high school. But the first time I ventured into the publishing world was during my first year in college. My manuscript was rejected, so to say, despite my slightly high expectation that it would be approved.
.
5. Right now, I got two published Filipino romance books under two different publishing houses (PHR and MSV) and one to be published. Still waiting for the result of my other MS in evaluation, though.

So you see, writing for me goes a long way. Well, at least I'd really call that long. Doing it is my one effective way to vent out my emotions to the world. From what I can see, I don't think I could remove it from my system at all no matter how much time will pass. That's why I tried venturing into the publishing world. I still have a long way to go, many more things to learn. But I think it won't let me stop writing completely.

Long caption for a Day 1 photo introduction, huh? Yup, I know. I thought of the same thing, too. But you know, I only write long captions when I truly feel like it. And that doesn't usually happen unless I have a lot to say. So now, on to the next photo, shall we?

For Day 1 Part 2:

This is the second photo of the day. In thhis part, they want us to introduce what we do. In my case, though, I introduced my first published book. Honestly speaking, I wouldn't call myself an author yet. I know I'm still far from that. So one of my bigger goals is to write and publish more books. I'm still thinking of another genre to write besides romance.

This particular photo was posted in my IG account between 9 PM to 10 PM.

#daretoshareIGchallenge

This is still the first day. But this will be the second scheduled post of the day. Just thought I'd share something about my first approved and published book.
.
๐Ÿ“ŒThis was inspired by the MVs of the Korean songs "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die" and "I'm Wrong", both by 2AM.
.
๐Ÿ“ŒThis was approved last October 2014 and published exclusively as an e-book under MSV Desire using the penname Florence del Rio last February 2016.
.
So two of the pictures here are how the pair refer to each other (or should I say, their symbolism to each other). While the other two refer to their professions. Which 2 photos describe the ML (male lead) while 2 more refer to the FL (female lead)? That's for you to find out by reading this book. Hehe!

#bookwarepublishing #writerlife #dreamcometrue
#writingjourney

Unsure if I should consider this as a #bookaesthetics, though. ๐Ÿ˜…✌๐Ÿ˜…✌

See one of the hashtags there? It sure is a dream come true for me. Some might think that I'm overreacting for just one book. You might be right. It's just one book. But the journey for me to achieve having approved and published a book wasn't definitely easy. In fact, there were more rejected/returned manuscripts than appproved ones. It nearly crushed me, so to say. But doing this is one thing that I really want to do. My father disapproved of this, but I continued because this is one of my goals--to become an accomplished writer one day. I'd do what it takes to achieve that.

There was one IG post that I saw and read last night. This one belongs to Ms. Arriane (IG: @arrianeserafico), the facilitator/teacher for this IG challenge. The lesson she posted for that night was: Write down your goals before you turn 30. The bigger and even scarier ones.

She based this lesson on her own experience where she wrote her goals before on Post-It notes and hid it somewhere. When she found these notes, she was surprised to see that she had achieved/fulfilled almost all of those written goals. I guess that's one of the combined powers of mind and writing, huh? Or maybe that's just me saying it.

But then... Why not? Let's give it a try. For me, I'm turning 26 this coming August. So that means I still have 4 more years to achieve those bigger and scarier goals I have in mind. But I'll post the list the next time, just for the purpose of sharing it and maybe inspire you to write your own big and scary goals and achieve them along the way.

For now, there you go! Hehe! I'll post another thing like this by tomorrow to sum up today's (Day 2) #daretoshareIGchallenge.

Till next time!
