I know this is a late post. I’ll try my best not to make a long (and possibly boring) post about this one. Hopefully, my hand could keep up with my mind in writing all my thoughts about this one.
Isa lang talaga ang masasabi ko all in all. It was surreal. I could still feel that magical feeling between Maine and Alden. Thank goodness, the most awaited time had finally arrived for both of them. Tama nga si Alden, ang tagal ding naghintay ng lahat for this grand and special day. And truthfully, it was worth the wait. Because the moment it all happened, the moment it all unfolded in front of us who waited, the feeling it all gave to us was overwhelming. So I settled in watching the events dito sa bahay.
I’m not a very vocal and active AlDub fan but I’ve been following almost every updates, news and articles about them as I watched how their story progressed over time. Sa dinami-rami na talaga ng pinagdaanan nila—despite the storyline being scripted and their emotions somehow starting to come out real (maybe?), nakakatawang isipin na higit pa sa inaasahan natin ang mga pangyayaring naganap that day. What Kalyeserye had given us that one special day was truly an event to remember. And I’m glad na nasaksihan ko iyon in this lifetime. A rarity? Definitely!
I was specially touched at the part when Alden and Maine embraced a surely teary-eyed Lola Nidora after the declaration—a grateful expression of appreciation for all that was done just for that special day to finally come into fruition. I came to appreciate the song “God Gave Me You” even more because of that day when Alden sang it in front of everyone as he led Maine around the stage. At that point, I could see how overwhelmed and thankful the pair was when Alden hugged Maine in the middle of the song. Who wouldn’t be? But they won’t stop saying those words to everyone even though it wasn’t enough. At least I know and I can see that.
First and foremost, I’m writing this on a piece of paper while leaning on the wall and sitting on my bed. It’s 9:21 in the evening and I’m listening to Angela Aki’s song “This Love” (which is a Japanese song, by the way). In other words, I’m starting to get sleepy. And aga ko pa man ding nagising. Even still, one thing I can tell everyone is that words are not enough to express everything I want to say to Alden and Maine as I congratulate them for all that they’d achieved since that fateful day AlDub was formed. I’m sure they will be loved even more as they entered a new chapter of their lives.
This is surely a new beginning not just for AlDub, for Alden and Maine, but also for everyone that made Kalyeserye as it is now. Unfold more stories that will give lessons of love and life to everyone in which, hopefully, will be seared not just in their minds but also in their hearts as they apply it in their everyday lives.
**And in the end, I made this post too long. I really can’t stop myself from posting long entries.
